Finding players to coach

DOWNLOAD BASKETBALL CAMP BLUEPRINT

Step-by-step checklist for starting, marketing and running successful basketball camps.

Just like anything, nothing happens overnight.

If you’re in the business of training kids to become better basketball players (via private lessons, small group sessions or camps), it’ll take time.

Knowing what I know and have learned over the last 15 years, here are some pointers on “quickly” finding kids to coach/train:

Perform self-inventory:
Make a short list of kids, who would benefit from your offerings. Thereafter, reach out to them (offering them a great introductory deal).

Create and disseminate business cards/flyers:
Once created, always keep business cards and flyers with you. When seeing potential kids to train, hand collateral out to parent. Place flyers in local shops (eateries, schools, community centers, etc.).

Learn and execute email marketing:
Setup “FREE” email marketing account (with Aweber, MailChimp, ConvertKit, etc.). Add prospects to database. Afterwards, communicate regularly.

These pointers will get you up and running quickly, with very little dependency on others.

(Please note, don’t expect others to send you new players. It almost never works that way. Instead, understand that the “lion-share” of your new players will come from your blood, sweat and tears.)

The first two pointers focus on what “you” can do to bring in new players (immediately, and without spending too much money).

The last pointer (email marketing) focuses on nurturing new prospects from the first two pointers but have yet to purchase anything.

You’ll use this system over and over regardless of your methods of attracting new prospects.

Go ahead and try these pointers ASAP!
