Initially, I appreciated and was grateful to have a 9-to-5 job.
Highly motivated and determined to be in the top 1%.
After a few years, major strides were made. Moving forward, I decided NOT to continue progressing at the pace I was going. Working that job wasn’t as important to me, as there was no passion towards it.
I felt trapped in a 9-to-5!
I wanted to do something totally different. Entrepreneurship over employment was where my heart was.
From 1993 – 2008, I went on an entrepreneurship journey, and literally bootstrapped multiple company-types: music management, online computer training and Internet consulting. Through this process, I made lots of mistakes. It was trial and error. Then, I stumbled onto something that touched me: offering basketball camps!
For me, offering basketball camps was a perfect fit! Number one, I love coaching basketball. Number 2, I could offer basketball camps while still at my 9-to-5. And number 3, basketball camps were profitable.
From this point (2008), it was balls to the wall. I put everything I had into this. Starting out, it wasn’t peaches and cream, but over time, the impact and cash flow was beautiful!
The company I founded is called Youth Hoops Basketball Camps (www.youthhoops.com). Youth Hoops has consistently generated significant income over the last 15 years.
If you’re looking for a great side-hustle, part-time gig, or full-time venture, offering basketball camps is a great option!
